I woke late again today. Not surprising, since I was out a little late last night, but I’ve gotta say, I hate sleeping in. Sometimes it’s nice because I need it, but even then I’m never happy about it when I finally do get out of bed. I feel like I’ve wasted the day. It’s frustrating, coming to the realization that yes, I do actually need to sleep every once in a while.
This past week has been tiring. There’s little doubt in my mind the next two weeks will be as well. I could rant for a long time about all the things irritating me lately–particularly with regards to my classes and obscene amount of group work–but it’s just not worth it. Just rest assured, I’ve got a lot on my mind right now. It’s that kind of stress where you know you have a lot of work to do and you feel like you’ve been super-productive (and I have). But then you look at your to-do list and see that it’s still ridiculously long, and then it’s just depressing. Ah well.
On a lighter note, I’m also starting to finalize my travel plans for the travel break, which is super-exciting. If anyone has any tips/recommendations/handy advice for any of my travel locations, please pass them on! Here’s my (tentative) schedule:
Saturday 10/31 – Sunday 11/1: Stockholm, Sweden
Monday 11/2 – Tuesday 11/3: Helsinki, Finland
Wednesday 11/4: travel to Rostock, Germany via ferry
Thursday 11/5 – Friday 11/6: Lübeck, Germany
Friday 11/6 – Sunday 11/8: Amsterdam, the Netherlands
Monday 11/9 – Tuesday 11/10: Brussels, Belgium
Wednesday 11/11 – Friday 11/13: Paris, France
Saturday 11/14 – Sunday 11/15: Dublin, Ireland
Obviously, it’s going to be a busy two weeks. But I’m excited. My friend Giancarlo will be traveling with me the second week, and I plan to use the first week to just relax and take my time seeing the sights. My travel will be via slow ferries between cities, so I’ll use that time to catch up on some reading for pleasure, relaxing, exercising, and TV-watching.
Anyway, expect plenty more updates on travel break-related things over the next several weeks, and obviously while I’m traveling (I’m taking my laptop and iPhone, so I’ll still be relatively connected). More later.
